How-to: Manage Emergency Contacts
An emergency contact is an individual, other than yourself, that Niagara College would contact should you be involved in an emergency situation. You can add more than one and they can reside within or outside of Canada.
You can access the Emergency Contacts page via the Dashboard on MyÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú. The link is located within the My Student Record section, under Manage Profile.
1) Log in to MyÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú.
2) Go to the Dashboard.
Once you are logged into MyÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú, click on the Dashboard icon.
3) Click the “Manage Emergency Contacts” link.
The link is found under “Manage Profile” in the “My Student Record” section. Note: Disable any pop-up blocks. After clicking the link a new browser window will open.
4) In the “Emergency Contacts” window that’s open, click the green “Add Emergency Contact” link.
Once you click the “Add Emergency Contact” button, you will be able to:
- Add emergency contacts.
- View and update emergency contacts previously added.
- Add or update your primary contact. You can only specify one contact as your primary contact.
5) Enter your emergency contact’s name and their relationship to you.
6) Enter your contact’s address information.
For the “Same Address as Student” field, selecting “Yes” will auto-fill using the address we have on file, while selecting “No” will allow you to enter your contact’s mailing address.
7) Enter your contact’s phone number.
You can add up to 3 phone numbers for the same contact.
For the “Same Phone as Student” field, selecting “Yes” will auto-fill using the phone number we have on file, while selecting “No” will allow you to enter your contact’s phone number.
8) Click the blue “Save” button when you are done.
Change your Primary Contact
From the main “Emergency Contacts” page, use the dropdown in the “Primary Contact” area and then click “Update Primary Contact” to select your primary contact. Note that you must have added the person as an emergency contact first before being able to select them as a primary contact.
You can also edit or remove your emergency contacts on this page by clicking the orange “Edit” button under each contact.
